The
Mahindra is not well known in Zimbabwe, and completely never heard of for the
undiscerning or unobserving motorist. For the observant, it is brand that has
recently appeared on Zimbabwean roads, with different looking pickups. It is
represented in Zimbabwe by Ameriworld. Since 2018, Mahindra is now assembling
some of the vehicles in South Africa.
Among
the most common models are the Scorpio Pickup, which has managed to find its
way into the car parks of some State Enterprises for their off road use.

Mahindra
is very big in India, being a manufacturer of vehicles across the board,
including military and farming equipment, including the Jeep JC3, under
licence. Mahindra competes with Maruti Suzuki and Tata in the Indian market.
Business
started with the assembly of the Willys Jeep under licence, ten branching out
with own models of commercial vehicles, saloons, SUV’s, and others, including
farming equipment.
